Recording: New, New, New

Lots of new things with the recording. First of all, we welcome a new member to the Ledaswan family. David Monzon will be playing guitar for us as well. he is helping in the recoding of the new cd and will be playing our next show with us as Ruta Maya. We have added lots of new ideas some of the songs, so you will definitely notice some changes in the live set. We have also written and recorded a brand new song called .357. We will be debuting that song soon. Maybe at Ruta Maya. The album will be called "Verse of Truth, Trash, and Beauty".

Recording: Day 5

I started cutting my guitar tracks today. I cut all the guitars for "7 Days" and it sounds great. Unfortunately I had to stop earlier than I had wanted to since it got very loud and I didn't want to disturb the neighbors. I will continue to record all the guitars throughout this week. I will post some clips and videos as well. I was going to post some video today, but I decided to post some video from the most amazing San Antonio band that had their last show last night.

Recording: Day 3-4

We came home today. It rained all day. Actually all night also. It started raining last night at about 2am as we were putting the finishing touches on a new song. After some more beers, Erica, Amanda and I finally figured out a new part for a sog that just really sent it over the top. The song sounds amazing now. We still dont have a title for it yet. At this point we just call it "Fancy Song". After we woke up today, we got all the vocals down for "Closure" and "Stupid Person". This recording is going to sound better than anything we have ever done. We still need one more vocal and all of my guitar tracks. We will have that done by this weekend. Erica's birthday is next week. We will be celebrating at the show at Atomix on Tuesday. We hope you come out to celebrate with us. Here's a clip of some of the video we took while recording.

Recording: Day 2

Well we got to where we are recording last night. Out in the middle of nowhere. No cell phone service, no internet service. All the drum tracks we did last weekend. Delrick just knocked them out. Today Amanda will come out and do all her bass tracks and then guitars and vocals. It's kind of nice to get away from everything, but weird being so out of touch. I guess that's why we are at a coffee shop that offers free wifi so we can write this. We realized how much of city people we were when we saw all the insects and spiders. Erica jumped when she saw a huge chicharra on the porch. We took some pictures of the huge insects and we will post those soon. Well we are off. Time to start the machine.

Jaime

so far, the first night at the cabin consisted of us getting spooked by spiders, strange noises of the night and we had some time to have some drinks, relax and listen to the radio and get excited about all of the old 80's top 40 pop songs we love. Second day of recording we.... well, recorded absolutely nothing! and talked about various bullshit, we talked about how we would like our recording to sound. And one mini keg later...... the chicharra's sang to us in a rhythm that we couldn't help but notice the beauty of this world's creatures. Oh, and Jaime jumped then screamed at the site of the chicharra! Not me....!!!
