“I’ve always been about music that makes me feel something. It gave me chills when I first heard it. You hear lots of bands and they’re pretty good, but it’s pretty much background music. But when someone actually makes you stop because they’re putting their heart and soul into it.....”

says Jaime Monzon upon hearing lead singer Erica Gutierrez' demos for the first time.

“He appreciated what I did.” explains Erica.

Four years later, the two began recording demos together that would be some of the first foundations for the four-piece rock band Ledaswan. Sometimes pop-rock, sometimes melodic, at times folk, Ledaswan is always painfully heartfelt. And in a world where music is labeled by genres, Ledaswan concentrates on the songwriting and music first. In its rawest form, because it's what Erica and Jaime love to do, the opportunity to hopefully tell a story or evoke some kind of feeling that anyone can attach their experience to.

The band performed their first show when they were invited to play at Emo's in Austin, Texas for Ladyfest 2004. Since then the band has been actively playing live shows, building momentum with fans in their home town, San Antonio, TX , and recorded a self-produced seven song E.P. “How to Rearrange the World in 7 Days” in December 2006. They have also shared the bill with such bands as Ambullette, Veruca Salt, the Strays, and Agent Sparks.

It took Ledaswan a bit of shuffling to get their current lineup. Amanda Flores on bass guitar and Delrick Colwell on drums. Amanda was approached by Erica through Myspace. And so Erica set up a tryout for the aspiring musician. Amanda was a fan of Ledaswan and Erica noticed she had this eclectic taste in music, and that she shared common goals of wanting to create music as a career. at the time Ledaswan was looking for their second bassist. “We gave her tapes of our music to prepare for and after the tryout something told us that she was the right fit, it is an exciting and fresh feeling.” Delrick Colwell 's drumming and left-field musical influences and approach help to carry the bands musical dynamics exceptionally well.

Currently Ledaswan is writing and getting ready to record a second E.P. due to be released summer of 2007. There have also been talks of creating their own record label as the band's interest and love for producing and recording has become more of a realization. “Our last E.P. was co-produced and mixed with a third-party, someone that was not the best fit for Ledaswan. So until we find the right fit as far as producer goes, we aim to do things on our own from here on out,” says Erica. “We were recording a demo for a new song with one microphone and it sounded outstanding. Why not do it ourselves, we now have the means to record the band, so we are all so excited about it, and the idea of having a possible record label of our own.”
